John Field Room, 1999

The ensemble's first visit to the National Concert Hall in Dublin was an opportunity to transform the challenging performance space in an exciting way. For the event, performers were placed throughout the unusual spaces available in the John Field Room, on the Georgian staircase, overhead in the first floor bar etc. The notorious difficulties of this foyer / venue were turned around and used as a virtue. The sell-out concert included the world premiere of a new work by Andrew Synnott and the Irish premieres of works by American composers Michael Gordon and Isak Goldschneider
