Crash Ensemble plays Kilkenny Arts Festival 2013

Wednesday 27th March, 2013

We are very excited to be playing at Kilkenny Arts Festival’s 40th anniversary festival this August!

We will be joined by the wonderful Dawn Upshaw, US Grammy Award-winning soprano, for whom That The Night Come by Donnacha Dennehy, the Yeats inspired song-cycle was written.

Kilkenny Arts Festival 2013 also hosts the world premiere of its new commission by US composer Michael Gordon written especially for Crash Ensemble to celebrate the festival's milestone anniversary. This commission was funded by the Arts Council.

This will be another opportunity to hear Drones, Variations, Ornaments by THE young American composer of the moment, Nico Muhly ,which was commissioned by Crash Ensemble with funds from the Arts Council in 2011.

Crash Ensemble will deliver several other site-specific events over the course of this year's festival- watch this space!
