After two weeks of travelling, rehearsing and performing in New Jersey, Washington DC and New York, we are back in Dublin, plotting new events already!
The Department of Music at Princeton was home to our rehearsals for the duration of our US tour, for which we are very grateful.
There we were re-united with our good friend Dan Trueman and performed his fantastic ‘W…’ ,specially written for Crash Ensemble in 2011, at Princeton Sound Kitchen. The programme also featured world premieres by Princeton graduate composers Ryan Brown, Konrad Kaczmarek, Kate Neal, and Troy Herion.
We also performed a programme of works by Donnacha Dennehy and Osvaldo Golijov with Dawn Upshaw at the John F Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington DC to a packed, and very receptive audience as part of the Fortas Chamber Music series.
And finally, we performed at the legendary Carnegie Hall on May 17th.
This was such a memorable performance in an incredible venue with one of the world’s best sopranos, Dawn Upshaw and the inimitable Iarla O’Lionáird. It doesn’t get much better than this, though that doesn't mean we won’t try!
