‍Two of Ireland's leading ensembles join together in a mesmerising soundscape of voices, strings, and electronics.The late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson was a singular talent, as celebrated for his theatre and film scores (including Arrival and Sicario) as for his orchestral work, and Drone Mass is his defining work.

‍Drone Mass isn’t really a mass. It’s a mysterious and richly atmospheric work inspired by ancient Egyptian Coptic hymn.

Since Jóhannsson's untimely death in 2018, Drone Mass has come to be regarded as the Icelandic composer's crowning achievement. Following the enormous success of last year's sold-out Irish Premiere at Kilkenny Arts Festival, Crash Ensemble and Chamber Choir Ireland now bring this iconic work on tour with Guest Conductor, Gabriel Crouch.
