Caimin Gilmore

Double bass player Caimin Gilmore is also a songwriter, composer and arranger, working with an eclectic mix of musicians across the globe. He released his first solo record, ‘String Ogham Live’, in 2020, featuring new work for Double Bass. He has commissioned a further four works with cellist Kate Ellis for their duo, Kate & Caimin. The works were premiered throughout Ireland in 2021, in a custom-made outdoor venue, transported on top of his Fiesta, funded by Bank of Ireland Begin Together Fund. He is currently composing new work for Harpist Gemma Doherty (Saint Sister), and Cellist Kate Ellis, commissioned by the Black Gate Cultural Centre, Galway.
