Matt Rafter is a musician and events producer with a desire to create and share arts experiences with every kind of audience. He began working as Ensemble Manager with Crash Ensemble in 2021. Matt has toured internationally as a cellist with Irish artist Hozier, and has recorded and performed as a cellist with many other Irish artists. More recently, Matt has worked in artist representation with Montreal-based Proship Entertainment. He is also passionate about youth involvement in music, and has worked in both teaching and organisational roles within Music Generation, Ireland’s national music education programme. He is the current Musical Director of the Irish Midlands Youth Orchestra. In June 2021 Matt attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Cultural Events Management from IADT. He also sits on the Board of Directors of Ranelagh Arts.
